Natura is recognized as one of the best companies in the world
Natura has just been internationally recognized as Best For The World 2021 (Melhor Empresa para o Mundo in Portuguese) in the Environment category. The result is a reflection of the good performance of the company with the positive impact on the environmental, social and economic chain, and the result of a good performance in the certification of company B, won by the company for the third consecutive time, in 2020.
In December 2020, Natura received, for the third consecutive time, the B company certification, being recognized as one of the few companies in the world to score in six impact business models (IBMs) that reflect the DNA of companies, among them: Employee Development, Soil and Wildlife Conservation, Ecological and Innovative Manufacturing Processes, Poverty Alleviation.
The first certification was granted in 2014, when it became the first company, listed on the Latin American stock exchange, to obtain it.
Natura seeks positive impacts through the causes “Amazonía Viva”, “More Beauty, Less Waste” and “Each Person Matters”. For the "Amazonía Viva" cause, Natura contributes to the conservation of 2 million hectares of the Amazon through its business model that combines fair trade, sustainable management and benefit distribution.

Through "More Beauty, Less Waste", the brand supports the development of sustainable initiatives for waste management. The company was the first Brazilian cosmetics brand to adopt refills in its products, as early as 1983, avoiding the daily disposal of garbage equivalent to the amount produced by 5.5 million people. “Each person matters”, Natura seeks to promote diversity and inclusion, in addition to guaranteeing access to its network of fair income relationships to ensure that primary needs are met, such as food, housing, education, health care and the transport.
B Corps use their business models to generate positive impacts in the economic, social and environmental fields, committing to be in constant evolution. To be considered a B Corp, the company is evaluated based on criteria such as Governance, Transparency, Collaborators, Supplier Communities, Environment and Customers.
To obtain certification, it is necessary to achieve at least 80 points, in an exhaustive audit, whose maximum score is 200. In 2020, Natura obtained 153 points; in 2017, the mark reached 123.8 points and, in 2014, 108.4 points. The certification is delivered by B Lab, an independent and non-profit institution that integrates Movimiento B, a global community that wants to transform the economy through more inclusive, equitable and regenerative businesses.
