This viscous magma that is applied in beauty salons and spas as a complement to manicures and pedicures, has the property of moisturizing like no other cosmetic product, as well as a great capacity to smooth the skin's surface, because it also helps improve circulation and open pores so that subsequent treatments penetrate deep layers of the skin.

With its application, moisture does not evaporate from the skin but remains in its inner layers, helping to hydrate, nourish and, as a consequence, rejuvenate it. For this reason, it is highly indicated for hands and feet with problems of dehydration, dryness, lack of elasticity, cracked or flaking skin, and dry cuticles.

Hands and feet are hard-hit areas throughout the year, but it is the heat that causes them to lose hydration and the time when they require intensive care.

What is it?

Paraffin is a group of hydrocarbons derived mainly from oil and to a lesser extent from coal. In refineries, these hydrocarbons are distilled at high temperatures, obtaining heavy oils. After cooling to 0°C, the paraffin crystallizes, separated by filtration or centrifugation. Afterwards, the product is purified and the resulting paraffin is sent to laboratories for later use in cosmetics.

How does it work?

The paraffin treatment is based on thermotherapy. Liquefied paraffin is very efficient at absorbing and retaining heat. When you dip your hand or foot into a paraffin bath, for example, heat is transferred from the wax to the affected areas as it solidifies. The heat increases circulation and relieves pain and tension. To help smooth the skin, paraffin increases the blood supply to the skin, while opening the pores and trapping moisture in the innermost layers of the skin.

The paraffin bath only requires that the hands and feet are completely clean. It can be done as many times as you want. The ideal is at least once a month.

Protocol in aesthetic center:

The therapist will make the precise indications for the treatment. The first step is to put your hand and/or foot in a container with hot paraffin for a few seconds. You have to make quick entries and exits because the paraffin is at a high temperature. You have to do it between six and 12 times. Once completed, each one of the hands or feet is removed and covered with osmotic plastic paper and covered with a piece of cotton so that it retains all the properties of the paraffin and waits between 15 and 20 minutes, until the paraffin remains cold and forms a solid layer.

Results: it is immediately verified that the skin has been hydrated, nourished and very soft, with a uniform tone and better color.

Paraffin Classic heater, easy to use with 2 temperature settings. It has 2.7 liters of capacity to allow comfortable work hands and feet.

Home use:

As the therapeutic agent in paraffin baths is heat, the substance needs to reach a temperature of 50 to 54 degrees Celsius. If you do not have a specific device, you will have to heat it in a bain-marie.

Attention! Paraffin cannot be heated directly, as it is a flammable substance.
