Femicide of Nuevo León is arrested in San Luis Potosí

The State Attorney General's Office confirmed that agents of the San Luis Potosí State Police detained 25-year-old Alejandro “N”, who was wanted in Monterrey, Nuevo León, for allegedly having murdered Gloria Estefanía in August of last year.

It was found after state security authorities responded to an attempt at violence inside a rehabilitation center located on Hidalgo avenue, in Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, a municipality conurbated to the capital of Potosi.

When checking the identity of the participants, they were informed that "Alejandro" had an arrest warrant in the state of Nuevo León for the alleged crime of femicide, which is why state agents arrested him and later they handed it over to elements of the Investigative Police for its subsequent transfer and making it available to the authority that requires it.

The man now detained is linked to the femicide of "Gloria Estefanía", 29 years old, who was four months pregnant; The discovery of her body was made during the search of a house in the Lomas de Anáhuac neighborhood, in Monterrey, on August 4, 2021.

The victim had been reported missing on July 30, after leaving his home in the municipality of Escobedo.

Since then, judicial authorities from Nuevo León established permanent communication with their counterparts from Potosi in order to find the whereabouts of the alleged perpetrator, a situation that was achieved this Saturday.

Days after the discovery of Gloria's body, the Nuevo León authorities had arrested 30-year-old Oswaldo as an alleged participant in the crime, but Alejandro's arrest was pending.

After perpetrating the crime, they put Gloria's body in a plastic bag and left it in the rental department where it was found; Gloria's autopsy revealed that her death was suffocation.
