Amelia de Dios: "Literature is the art of getting into the shoes of another"
The writer Amelia de Dios Romero, Marta de Montçal's International Prize for the novel "Watches" (Editorial Roca), understands literature as "the art of getting into the shoes of another", and therefore all its stories ariseFrom what the characters they create themselves suggest.
The author, who on Wednesday has presented her newly published novel, writes systematically from half past seven in the morning until noon and gets carried away by what the characters "dictate" because they are the ones that determine the stories and theway to narrate them regardless.
The writer, a member of the Association of New Writers and the International Society of Latino Authors, has said that she writes the stories she would like to read without clinging to rigid structures or literary genres.
Born in Madrid and resident in Paris after having worked in Caracas, London and New York in Marketing and Communication, by God Romero came to literature from the bed of a hospital where he was convalescent of a multiple sclerosis.
There began his first novel, "until the truth finds you", a thriller starring the only survivor of an aviation accident that lost his memory and seeks herself, self -edited by Amazon, although since she was a teenager she felt passion for to write.
"From a young age I had the fans of writing stories as if they were first chapters, I must have more than twenty that can be the germ of future novels," he explained to Efe.
God Romero has written this novel promoted by the challenge of making a "cocktail" with his own grandmother, a serial killer, a woman who suffers from the loss of a loved being and a ghost.
"Watch you" is set in a rural village in Asturias, to which a woman arrives a year after having lost her husband in an accident to close and sell the house that both planned to restore and there she discovers some events of a terrifying past.
Olivia, the protagonist, has both weight in the story and the character of Camilo, a child hated by her grandmother who blames her for her daughter's suicide for being a single mother, and who becomes a murderer with 68 dead buried under the fruit treesof a farm for 39 years.

"I was interested.
From God, he recognizes that in all his bibliography the female characters are predominant, except in "Osa", in which Olivia and Camilo are in a plane of equality, and attributes it that being a woman, it is "easier" to reachThe personality of women.
"It is not something premeditated or has an ideological intention, it is simply easier to write about women than men," he explained.
This difficult work to typecast in a given genre allowed the author to win this year the VIII International Prize for Marta de Mont Marçal and publish the novel, which has just arrived at the bookstores.
It is his third novel after "until the truth finds you", winner of the first prize of the Latin International Book Awards and "if I knew you are there", set in a refugee camp in Somalia, edited by Casiopea.
His fourth novel has already finished, "when death separates us", in which he addresses the different forms of sexist violence in the characters of three women who face her differently.
The fifth novel, not yet written, will have nothing to do with the previous.
