This Saturday 18 September the city of Valencia will live the celebration of one of its most outstanding sports events: the 15K night Valencia Banco Mediolanum, which will begin at 22: 00 on Avenida Ingeniero Manuel Soto de València and cross the most emblematic places of the city until crossing the finish line on Juan Verdeguer Street.
The event, which celebrates its eighth edition this year, was presented at the València City Council and was attended by sports councillor Pilar Bernabé and the director of the race Rafael Blanquer. Javier Fano, head of the Levante area of Banco Mediolanum, Juan Miguel Gómez, director of the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation and Mónica Del Arco, communication director Joma, also took part.
Thus, almost 7,000 runners will take the streets of the city of Túria after two postponements due to the pandemic situation of COVID-19. Thus, in order to enjoy this night test with all the guarantees of safety and due to the different regulations and protocols Covid-19, the organization of the 15k night has established a series of measures with the aim of safeguarding and guaranteeing the health safety of all runners and attendees of the event.
First, the temperature will be taken at all participants and the use of the mask will be mandatory until moments before departure. In this sense, there will be different exits of 1,000 runners with marks of separation on the asphalt of 1'5m between them. In addition, each corridor will be informed of its appropriate control point, where each participant's temperature will be taken. In addition, all runners must be 40 minutes before their departure shift to ensure the proper conduct of the sport test. All personalized information will be made available by the participants in their email.
As explained by the organization, the activity of the event will begin on Friday 17 September with the opening of the fair of the corridor, which will be located in the historic building of the Atarazanas. This emblematic enclosure of the Valencian heritage is once again the meeting point for runners and sponsors and exhibitors. In addition, in this space runners will be able to withdraw their dorsal to participate in the race, their runner bag and Joma's technical T-shirt with which they are given to the participants. The opening hours of the corridor fair will be: Friday, June 17, from 10: 00 to 14: 00 and from 16: 00 to 20: 00, while Saturday, June 18, will be uninterrupted, from 10: 00 a.m. to 7: 00 p.m.
In this edition, the organization will bet on reaching out to all followers who so wish by offering the live broadcast of the race through the official social networks of the event Facebook, and YouTube. The Valencian running show will reach mobile devices and computers thanks to the voice of the Marathon Radio team.
Thus, all those who wish to follow the direct will also be able to observe about twenty elite athletes who will try to break the records currently held by the race-Abel Kipchumba (Ken) 41: 55 in the male category and Zeineba Yimer (ETI) 46: 52 in the female category. This year's favorites include Ugandans Mande Bushendich and Abel Chebet and Olympic runner-up Francine Niyonsaba.
In addition, the race, which bears the Silver Label label of World Athletics, has released its official slipper from its technical sponsor JOMA. This is a special edition made by the Spanish brand with exclusive details to illuminate the Valencian asphalt. The latest sizes of this slipper are available on the website www.joma-sport.com
Street cuts and police device
At 16: 00h, the race will begin, which will lead to the closing of some of the city's streets until 1: 30h in the morning. In this sense, a comprehensive police and volunteer mechanism has been established throughout the circuit to ensure the correct conduct of the test and thus minimize the impact on the citizenry.
On the official website of the test www.15Knocturnavalencia.com you can consult the map with the forecast of street cuts and passing times of the race.
