The problem with leather shoes is that if you're looking for really genuine leather, chances are you'll find quite high prices. On the other hand, taking care of them can be quite complicated, especially if you want to keep them looking their best.

Similarly, if you have sweaty feet, they may not be the best option since they don't have much breathability, so they can lock in heat, causing discomfort. However, this may depend on the type of leather.
