Tricks so that shoes do not slip - NIUS
Autumn is a season known for its typical ingredients, the reddish-colored landscapes, the time change and the abundance of rainfall. Now that it is more common to walk in the rain or on wet ground, the risk of an unfortunate slip also increases.
In addition to weather conditions or the state of the ground, our shoes can slip for other reasons such as having a non-rubber sole or one that is worn. If you have some shoes that you love, but that you don't wear because they tend to slip, we'll tell you a few tricks so you can start wearing them without fear.
1. Apply lacquer
The trick of spraying lacquer on the sole of the shoes is one of the most economical and effective. Although it may seem surprising, hairspray can be used for this and other home tricks, such as cleaning greasy stains.
To apply the lacquer on the shoe, you must make sure to spray only the sole so as not to stain the leather or fabric. Then, let the shoe dry completely before using it.
When the lacquer has dried, a non-slip plastic film will have been created that will improve the adherence of the shoe and will repel water and humidity.
2. Soak with a soda
Another trick is to use a sugary drink. To do this, soak a cotton ball or absorbent paper with this drink and apply it to the sole of the shoe. Let dry completely to create the adhesive surface.
3. Moisten with water and sugar
If you don't have soft drinks at home, another even cheaper alternative is to mix warm water with a good amount of sugar. Stir the ingredients until the sugar grains are well dissolved, apply the solution to the sole with the help of cotton or absorbent paper and let it dry.
4. Rub a potato
The potato trick is surely the most unusual on this list. This uses potato starch to create a non-slip layer that allows the sole to grip better in wet environments or slippery floors.
This method is as simple as cutting a potato in half, rubbing it all over the sole, and letting it dry completely.
5. Pass a sandpaper
Although it may seem that the sandpaper would serve to achieve the opposite effect, the truth is that it can help create a little roughness in the soles so that they adhere better to the ground. This trick is especially suitable for soles with little tread or soles with shiny rubber.
For this method, use fine-grain sandpaper and be careful with the leather or fabric of the shoe. Rub the sole with soft, circular movements, paying special attention to the front area and the sole of the shoe.
