The leather and footwear entrepreneurs of the El Porvenir district, in the province of Trujillo, insisted that the Purchases from MYPerú program acquire some four million pairs of school shoes from 4,500 micro and small companies (Mypes) in the country that make shoes, with which would give work to about 40,000 people.

This approach was given on Thursday, January 27, during the installation of the first Leather and Footwear technical table in El Porvenir, where the director of the MYPErú Purchasing Program, Ninoska Mosqueira Cornejo, was present.

The mayor of El Porvenir, Víctor Rebaza Benites, pointed out that the acquisition would be for school-age children who are in a vulnerable situation and who are the same ones currently served by the Qali Warma program .

The specialist of the footwear sector, Juan Porturas Arriola, specified that these four million pairs of shoes would help to obtain income three times higher than that of the poverty line (S/ 350.00), in which the workers of the sector are currently immersed. leather and footwear. "The cluster supplying supplies and services for footwear would be reactivated, which would generate the respective indirect jobs and at the local level the economy of the district of El Porvenir would be revitalized ," he said.
