Yubeili: "My project speaks of overcoming, achieving goals and shut up mouths"

It's called Omar, but everyone knows him as Yubeili.With just 25 years, it is already a reference in his country, Mexico, although at first not everyone believed in him.Today he has managed to silence many of those mouths with themes that have been a success such as: "We live as bosses", which has more than 15 million views on digital platforms, or their "70 degrees" collaboration with Nyno Vargas and NanpaEssential.

He is now in Spain and has just released "I called" with RVFV and Hozwall.The Mexican cannot believe the reception he is having in our country, the place where the subject is being heard most.We chat with him about the support he has in Spain and why his visit.He tells us that he is here for work.He has many projects, among them, the new theme that he is recording with Maikel Delacalle in Madrid."Yubeili comes a lot for Spain and for a while," he tells us himself.

Q: How about Madrid?First time here?

A: In the middle of winter and very cold, but they are treating me very well.I'm happy, really.Madrid is beautiful.Since I arrived, I said: "This is a city sent to do."Thus, nothing fails, and they set up.It is my first time here and throughout Europe.

Q: What have you taught you?

A: For now, I have eaten a lot of Serrano ham.I know Gran Vía because I've been around here, but little else.I stay until the 23rd of this month, but I came to make a movie and I was already in Seville, Jerez and Zahara de los Atunes recording.And now I am in Madrid to record a video clip with Maikel Delalle, which I will launch in the coming months.So, nothing, flow and full work.

Q: What is the movie?

A: I can give you the title, although I can't tell you much more.He is going to call himself 'vampires' and it is the first time I make cinema in Europe.It is a production of Los Angeles with Spanish collaboration.They have a cast everywhere: Colombians, Mexicans, Spanish ...

Q: Do you make prota?

A: No, I really go as a special collaboration as a musician.They literally took me a little, because I do urban but not the genre that they put me to do.I arrive, I do a special participation and I don't want to advance you anymore.

Q: You have highlighted the importance of acting.You say: "Putting on the skin of another person, what you are feeling and living, helps me a lot as a composer." Can you choose between being an actor or singer?

A: I already made the decision and has already been seen for a long time.I am 100% with music, and here I have opened the Spanish artists that I admire a lot.The first Spanish artist with whom I did a theme was Omar Montes and I have a lot of love.Then Nyno arrived and I also felt it as a family.

Q: Have you not seen them?

A: No, because they are in different places and Omar Just went to Los Angeles.It is a shame not to have crossed.Now the theme came out with RVFV called, "Sorry I called", and the truth is that super happy because the first country where the song is being heard is here in Spain.

Q: So, you have to come here more here.

A: That is the idea.I need to get a good Spanish, a good woman.Come here six months to live and be comfortable with heating, but I will have to come in summer.

Q: C.tangana follows you, would you like to collaborate with him?

A: Ah, bastard, does C. Tangana really follow me?I didn't know that ... Look, what madness!Of course, collaborating with him would be a dream.For me 'El Madrid' is the best album that I have heard in the last five years.It is an album that drives me crazy.From the first song I heard from Tangana, I love it.It seems to me that he is a guy who represents art and culture.

Q: You are very aware of various causes, tell us a little more ...

A: It is not that it is a single cause.I have helped clean seas in Mexico, I always go with Michou and Mau, which is a burned children association, before burning.Because this year I have had an accident, but fortunately I have a good doctor and I remain as ugly as before.But I think we don't have to wait for something bad to happen to put on the shoes of the other.Whenever you can hold your hand and help, you have to do it.Because today life is a Russian roulette and today you are up here, but tomorrow you don't know.And surely you will like it that in those bad times someone came to contribute a little.

Q: Does all that capture your music?Do you think it is important to send messages?

A: My music is of overcoming, in reality, especially this year's.Also with broken hearts and drunk ... It has nothing to do with the social part.Actually, the social part is separated, it is part of Omar, of my private life.Instead, Yubeili talks about overcoming, getting goals, shutting up mouths with work and having fun.My music is for people to identify, have a good time, you can take a drink and if it is hurt with friends and forget about the sorrows.

Q: Why shut up mouths?

A: Because I think that at the beginning of my career many people did not trust what I could do as a musician, knowing that I was coming a bit of what I did on television.Step by step, and this year above all, I think the opposite was demonstrated.I mean two or three people, not from the public, who said: 'Nothing will happen with your career.'So, it makes me very happy to say: "Look what is being done today."

Q: What is your bet for the next Grammy Awards?

A: For this year not, for the next if I would like to propose something.We have a fusion with the people of Edwin Luna and the Trakalosa de Monterrey, which I love.That comes out next February and I think they have never heard an equally urban fusion with Mexican Regional.

Q: Is it the best time for urban genre and Latin music?

A: It is a good time to talk about Spanish, not even there in Latin America.I think the movement that is being given in Argentina, Mexico or Colombia is incredible.I think we are demonstrating that we are more.I am happy with what is happening because it is music of our roots.

Q: Purposes for 2022?

A: My purpose is to be happy.Keep traveling, keep giving shows around the world.Without going any further, this year I had to give my first Luna Park in Argentina.I had to sing in front of 10,000 people and I appreciate that in my heart.I was on tour, it was my first appearance in Netflix.So, I am happy with what I have and I want to continue enjoying my work.
